This book THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA is written by American author ERNEST HEMINGWAY and published in 1952. In this book THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA story about an old fisher man named SANTIAGO village in Cuba who has not caught a fish unluckily eighty four days a boys who is learned how to fish caught from the old man. A younger boy kind to him bringing food for old man and listening to the old man stories.

Santiago sets out alone in is small skiff into Gulf Stream on the 85th day and he managed to hook a massive marlin, fight the huge fish and he fight through pain as a hero three days and three night fish itself begins to pull the boat of the old man. The old man unable to tie the line fast to the boat due to fear the fish snap a taut line and the bear the strain of line his hand,shoulder and back and ready to give slack should marlin a run.

Santiago suffer the constant pain from the fishing line and every attempt of freedom by fish his body badly cord cuts. Santiago bother in suffering resolve and strength. On the other hand at last fish tries and Santiago and manage to pull the marlin in suffer to kill it with a harpoon thrust of his boat.  Santiago return to Cuba empty handed and his struggle and sacrifice have earned him respect of his crowd of Fisherman gathered around big skeleton of fish and everyone comes and sea it Manolin comes who worried about the old man’s. The old man wake’s return to a sleep and dream of lions and beaches of Africa.
